Upcoming Hikes

We usually hike on the first SATURDAY of the month, from April through October. In the 2013 season we will hike on the second Saturday of the month in May and September! Trail conditions, weather, closures, and other unforeseen events can cancel hikes or cause us to change our trail plans, so check in with us via e-mail or Facebook for any last minute changes.

April 6 - Dusty Lake (near Ancient Lake) 6 miles round trip, 200ft elevation gain
May 11th - Camas Meadows 2mi RT, +350ft
June 1st - Upper Icicle Creek 5-10mi RT, up to 400ft gain
July 6th - Meander Meadow 12.5 mi RT, +2475ft
August 3rd - Pear Lake 12 mi RT, +2600ft
September 14th - Iron Goat Loop 5.6 mi RT, +700ft
October 5th - Poet Ridge and Cockeye Lake about 8 mi RT, +2400ft

The hike: This is going to be a fun, quick hike up toward Blewett Pass. Camas Meadows is home to a number of unique plant species and a few endangered birds. Lush wetlands, flowers, and views out toward the Cascades all await us!  For more information visit the WTA website.

Want to come along? Let us know! On hike day meet us at 9:00 am at the Park-n-Ride in Olds Station on the NE corner of Hwy 2 and Easy Street. Bring water, snacks/lunch, sunscreen and bug repellent. We expect to be back at the Park-n-Ride before 1:00. I have been informed that parking is limited at the trailhead, so we will definitely need to carpool. Those who drive will need a Discovery Pass!
